Review of
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube)
By Ryan Wellman

In a world full of robots, a mysterious robot with the alias Glitch has been discovered. Nothing is known about the model, but it is salvageable. Once rebuilt it will help with the war, but will it be able to survive for long?

This game is a Halo-like, robot game with the attitude of Conker, in other words, destruction, tons of metal, and naughty language. This game is not for little kids. It was however, perfect for me. The controls were very smooth and reactive, and it went in sync perfectly with the gameplay. The smooth high-paced adventure drew me into it. It got harder and harder the more I played, and that is one of the things I liked the most.

Throughout the war, Glitch will come across upgrades, powerful allies, horrible creatures, and high-speed vehicles. There are also tanks and a couple of ways to hijack enemy robots. The multiplayer mode is just as smooth and fast paced, and with the control that comes with this game, it’s incredible fun to mow down your friends or enemies in multiplayer mayhem.

What I liked most about this game was the little details in how it was presented. With every enemy you destroy there is scrap metal and robot parts flying everywhere. If you destroy the top half of certain enemies, they’ll just be legs running around aimlessly. If you destroy their heads only though, they will still fire at you, but they will be aimless and most likely won’t hit you. I also really liked the sarcasm in the game. Nothing was taken too seriously, and because of that I wasn’t bogged down by too much talking or unwanted story. Instead I was able to laugh at it and actually enjoy the game.
