Review of
Wario Ware (GameCube)
By Ryan Wellman

This game was nothing like Wario World, and that’s one of the reasons it got a perfect score from me. Wario Ware isn’t like anything I’ve ever seen before, even though it has cameo appearances from many old Nintendo games such as Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, and so much more. This game is friggin crazy, and never lacks in confusion. I loved it.

There is no story line for this game, only a premise that it is a party game. Very unlike Mario Party games however, this game features hundreds of short clips of games, testing your reactions and reasoning. The further you get in the game, the faster your reactions must be. The complexity of the puzzles grow, and even if you know what to do, you could easily mess up just by reacting too soon or pushing the wrong direction.

That was just the single player mode, the multi player mode was also awesome and crazy. In fact, it was a lot more awesome and crazy, and ten times more fun. A rookie to game playing could easily pick this game up and beat a lifelong gamer. My little nephew dominated until I got the hang of it. The great thing is, up to four people can play at a time, and more people were willing to play this over Mario Party.

The thing I probably liked the most about this game was the randomness and the silliness. Some of the mini games were so strange, and included making a woman sniff up her snot by pushing the button fast enough, eating a hotdog by munching at the right time, cutting hair, fighting, jumping, trapping, catching, bouncing, picking and so much more. This game is insane.
