World #10: Ghester and Playt

My memories flipped back in my head, and I remembered the first time I had defeated Mantellan. I remember when I thought he was dead, and how I blacked out. Then I remember being at home. Only something is missing there. Something is not right. There is a time in my life that is only a clouded circle..... or a ripple in mucky water.

The first thing I remember after the cloud fades away, is being a little older and in a different town than Orsidium and Dirrinni, living on my own. I had never really thought about what happened, the only thing I knew was that I had gotten my hat back and the Gallows had given me a Blue Gem. A tickle of something told me that it was the Gem that my father Ghester was protecting. Something isn't right about that, but I don't understand what.

Then I remember seeing Evil in my house. Thinking back, I don't remember any of the stuff in the house ever being mine. All the objects were as if they had been placed there. Was I being puppetted around this whole time? It was very possible that Evil and me were supposed to fight, like actors who didn't know the plot. Who could have done that though, Adradiggi? Mantellan? I knew there were other factors at work here. Something was different about time, and it might have been because all of the holes between Dussyllia and Aspimiria. And then there was Insidious. His wormholes might have something to do with this shift, or change in time.

Another thing that I didn't really understand was the Gallows. And the Gems. Alesandra knew that my father was disintegrated by Mantellan. She said his soul sank into the sand and he held on to the few gems he had and protected them under the sands. What I wanted to know is how many gems did he have. How many gems had pieces of his soul in them? How many of the Gems did he make unbreakable with his disembodied spirit? If the only remaining gems had my father's soul in them, then would he be controlling the Gallows?

I stood there on the cliff, flashing back to reality. There was work to do here. I held the two gems and called for the Gallows. One appeared, barely in existence. I asked him if there was a way to talk to my dad. A low sound began to grow and then the Gallow started to flicker. The scribble lines that made up the Gallow mutated and formed the face of a man. Then the low sound became an audible voice, booming out of the gems. "Lysandus, this is Ghester. I know that things are a bit confusing, but it is going to be fine. You have destroyed Mantellan, and fulfilled your prophecy of destroying Adradiggi as well, even though both of them still exist in one form or another. I suppose you exist in at least two forms too don't you? Have you been split or doubled, that is the question."

"I don't really care, I just want to know if there's a way that I can bring my friends back to life and fix Dussyllia."

"Of course, don't you remember being dead once? Don't you slightly remember being in the underworld?"

I stopped and looked deep into my memories and remembered nothing. "I died? I think you're lying, I would remember something like that!"

"Yes there is a way to bring them back. It is dangerous, and I'm not quite sure if he's ready to do it again. I have already sent for him, he will be here soon."

"Who will be here soon?"

His face started to crumble and his voice faded away slowly. "He is a shaman and he is very stra.... and r..., his n...m is Pl....t," and then his voice disappeared for good.

Suddenly there was a weird noise coming out of my mouth. It sounded like a tekno song. Then, out of nowhere, my mouth turned into a flashlight and the song got louder. The light beamed out of my mouth and got brighter and brighter until it seemed like a solid white beam. The white beam bent and started to shape. The noises stopped and all I heard was a one key chorus in the background. The light left my mouth and gathered together in a pile that moved and quivered. The light started to dim and take shape. Then suddenly there was a snap. A red person who seemed to be from Fahlls appeared out of the light. He had a hat on his head, red and black. His face looked slightly psychotic.

"Who are you?" I said and stared at him. Could this be who my dad sent to help?

"I am Playt. And who are you?"

"I am Lysandus, I've been told you've met me before."

"Oh, that could have been, I might do that tomorrow if I feel like it." I looked at him puzzled as fuck. What was he talking about? "My time is random ya know."

"OOOOOOOhhhhh," I backed up a step and put my hands up. "I remember you now. You need to stay off of me this time Playt, you completely fucked up my head last time I saw you. You had pulled me up out of the underworld and back to life. I can remember now. But what happened after that?"

"Oh don't fuckin ask me I have no clue what you're talkin about you friggin psycho. You always were a psycho weren't you?"

"What? So you do remember me?"

"Never met ya."

I grunted with annoyance. "I give up, can you bring my friends back to life and fix my world?"

"Sure, fuck it, I'll do it for free this time. Next time you die though I'll need a little something... maybe some memories?"

"You sick fuck."

He laughed loudly and moved his arms up to the sky. He straightened his legs and stood on his tippy toes. Then he brought down his arms and fell to the ground. He slammed his gloves into the mountain top and it crumbled. Then the half of the mountain that Playt was on started to crumble. Dust flew up everywhere and got in my eyes. I coughed as the dust flew down my throat and then I gasped for air. Eventually the dust settled and I looked around. Playt was gone but Dirrinni was sitting up and Orsidium was awake with his head once again attached to his body over by the door. They both stood up and walked over to me. Their eyes were huge and they looked like they were thoughtless. They were zombies, created by Playt. I made them follow me into the doorway, and back to Dussyllia.
