World Of Lysandus #5: The Tides Turn (2/2)

As I ran towards him, he jumped up and kicked the air right in front of me. I ducked my head back for a second and when he landed I slammed my head into his. His head cracked back and he fell to the floor. He caught himself before he hit and I felt the anger fill him. He squinted his eyes and swept the ground from under my feet. I fell backwards and he jumped on me and started punching me in the face. His hits were relentless, and I couldn't get up enough power to get him off of me. One of the fire birds swooped down and knocked him off, then another one swooped down and tried to bite my head off as I was sitting up. I ducked and punched the bottom of its neck as it passed me. It screamed in horror and lost control of its flight. One of its wings slammed into the ground circle and was ripped off, sending the bird through a spinning descent into the lava. The burning wing remained on the plateau, and Evil stomped part of it right before darting back towards me. I put my legs up to his stomach and flipped him over me, sending him to the edge of the cliff. He grabbed the ground to slow him down and clung to the side. I ran over to him and he flipped up, just in time for me to kick him into the lava. I watched him fall, and then he stopped, and floated upwards slowly. That's when I remembered that he could fly and I could not.

Two more birds flew above us and two dark figures dropped from the clutch of the fire demons. As they fell I recognized them for who they were, but I really didn't understand why they were brought here. I ran over and caught Orsidium, but didn't have time to catch Dirrinni, Evil had gotten there before I could. He stuck his gloves onto Dirrinni's mask and corrupted his soul. I tried to wake up Orsidium so he could help me out, but there was no time before Dirrinni used his magick, sending a ball of black ice towards me. I jumped back just in time for it to glide past. Evil laughed and flew towards me again with incredible speed. I tried to jump over him, but he swooped upwards to grab me. He flew into the air and spiked me down into the rock ring below. I slammed into the pavement and Dirrinni bound me there with a mental rope. I was stuck to the ground and Evil glided over top of me, chuckling with wicked thoughts running through his demented mind. He reached down to put his glove on my face, but was knocked to the side by Orsidium. "Lysandus, what the fuck is going on, what was in that fucking apple I just ate?"

"Oh, thank god Orsidium, that person you just hit was an evil me and he's corrupted Dirrinni. Help me out of here, Dirrinni's used his binding magick." Just as the words fell out of my mouth, I could hear that evil laugh of Mantellan again, echoing over the hills.

"This makes no fucking sense man, but once again I'll trust you." He tackled Dirrinni and tried to convince him that he was being controlled. Because Evil didn't have much influence over him, he was easily shaken out of his trance. They both got up and Dirrinni released his spiritual hold on me. I looked around for Evil, but he was gone. I didn't see him anywhere. Then I looked into the sky and he was floating high above us. "Come down here and fight you... what the fuck do I call him, Demon Lysandus?"

"Call him what you will, he needs to die either way, but I think we have a bigger problem right now, and he realizes it too. Mantellan got a hold of my Gallow Gem, and my guess is, while me and Evil were fighting, he had been collecting the other Gifts as well. Now what we feared all along has come true, he has control of both worlds, and he's brought us all here for one reason or another." Orsidium slapped me, told me I was a fucking idiot for giving my gem to Mantellan, and I kicked him in his shin. "Calm the fuck down Orsidium, it's not my fucking fault, and we're not gonna get anywhere by fighting with each other like this."

Suddenly a giant door appeared on the path and it swung open on its hinges. Mantellan walked slowly out, followed by Adradiggi. Mantellan had changed into a monster, and was now covered in a shiny red armor like plating. Every inch of his skin was covered, and he seemed to be over 10 foot tall now. A field of flames surrounded him, much like the aura around Evil's being. His eye patch was gone, and I could see light from the Gifts pouring out from the slit which was once his eye socket. He had horns sticking out the top of his head, and he resembled the king of the Underworld. The more I looked at him, the more I realized that even the Devil himself wasn't as powerful as Mantellan had become. He had absolute power, and all of us, were shit out of luck.
